Tobacco Harm Reduction is at the center of everything that we do at VIDA News but it is just a piece of a much larger picture of human rights. Those human rights include the right to health (which we speak to) but it also includes the right to life. Recent events have made it clear that systemic and institutionalized racism are threatening that right for our Black neighbors in the United States. We’ve come to understand that to be silent about the threat to the lives and well-being of Black people is to be complicit in those threats.
It is important that right now, we at VIDA news make a clear statement. Black Lives Matter.
In this clip from our most recent broadcast, senior correspondent Dom Garrett explains how tobacco harm reduction and harm reduction, in general, are connected to the great human rights picture.
